ANIMAL: A woman in the 2900 block of NE 178th Street contacted police after her neighbor’s lynx or exotic cat attacked her domestic cats outdoors. When the lynx started to attack her two domestic cats, she sprayed the lynx with water. The lynx ran off. The woman believes there has been at least 20 incidents that happened since the neighbors moved in with their lynx since March 2011. The police gave the woman a copy of an ordinance about exotic animals; the woman said she did not want to pursue the matter at the immediate time to keep some form of harmony between herself and the neighbors. There was a question if the neighbor’s animal was in violation of the city ordinance.
