Chestatee Wildlife Preserve Produces Inbred White Tiger Cubs

DAHLONEGA (AP) — Four rare, white Siberian Tiger cubs are marking their first days of life at a wildlife preserve in the northeast Georgia mountains.

Staff members at the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega say it’s unusual for a mother to give birth to four cubs. The Times of Gainesville reports (http://bit.ly/MqjvZ7) that the tigers typically have two or three cubs at once.

C.W. Wathen, founder and general manager of the preserve, said he was surprised to turn on a camera in the mother’s den Thursday night and see the four tiny cubs. Authorities say the cubs might grow to 700 to 800 pounds.
