PeTA group calls for USDA to shut down GW Exotic Animal Park
An animal rights group is calling for a local animal park to be shut down after two chimpanzees got out of their cage last Friday.
An eye witness called the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) after they saw the two chimps escape at GW Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood.
After about an hour on the loose, the animals were lured back in their cage with popsicles.
No one was hurt, but PETA officials say the incident was caused by employee carelessness. That’s grounds to have their license revoked.
USDA failed to cite GW Exotic Animal Park for this reported escape.
This is what others said about a similar chimp escape in Las Vegas.Read More
